Library Technical Assistant 2- Circulation Department and Technology Assistance (Part-Time)
The E.C. Scranton Memorial Library in Madison, CT seeks a customer service oriented, collaborative and flexible individual to join our team. This person must be able to provide one-to-one technology assistance to library patrons by appointment. Additionally, the position includes circulation of books and other materials, which is one of the Library’s most important functions. Circulation staff members play a key role in library services by providing prompt, accurate, and friendly service. The successful candidate for this position will have strong computer and technology skills; excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to provide excellent customer service to patrons of all ages. Benefits & Compensation: Pay $18.90/hr. Eligibility for a 401k retirement plan, subject to plan terms. Paid time off (PTO) earned on an accrual basis. Company-paid holidays. Adult Volunteering:

Thank you for thinking of E.C. Scranton Memorial Library! Volunteers are a great support to our library staff and also to our community. 

We welcome volunteers to help us:

  • Shelve materials (fiction, non-fiction, media)
  • Shelf read (making sure materials are in their proper places)
  • Make home deliveries (deliver library materials to Madison residents who cannot come to the library).

Friends of the Library:

Friends of the Library volunteers do various tasks for the Library, including assisting with events, planning programs, organizing fundraisers, and assisting with the Book Sale. If you would like to help out, please contact the Friends of the Library.
