Sign-ups for the third summer of Scranton Library’s free Summer Drop-Off Program for children aged 5 to 12 will begin Tuesday, February 18th at 5:30 (in-person). On Wednesday, February 19th, a limited number of spots will open for online-only sign-up. All sign-ups are first come, first served. Enrollment will be limited to one week per child, and the program will be divided into two age groups:
5-8 years old:
- 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. the weeks of July 14th & August 11th
- 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. the weeks of July 28th & August 4th
- Both sessions will be for 5-8 year olds the week of July 21st
9-12 years old:
- 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. the weeks of July 15th & August 11th
- 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. the weeks of July 28th & August 4th
- There will be no drop-off for 9-12-year-olds the week of July 21st
Children must turn 5 (or 9) by the first day of the program.
The program will last a total of 5 weeks this summer:
- July 14-18
- July 21-25
- July 28-August 1
- August 4-8
- August 11-15
Children enrolled in the summer drop-off program must have a Madison, CT address and either have their own library card or a guardian with a library card.
IN-PERSON SIGN-UPS WILL BEGIN AT 5:30 ON TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18th AT THE SUMMER EXPO AT SCRANTON LIBRARY.
ONLINE SIGN-UPS WILL OPEN AT 9:30 AM THE FOLLOWING DAY, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH ONLINE ONLY. THERE WILL BE NO IN-PERSON OR TELEPHONE SIGN-UPS ON THE 19TH.
ANY REMAINING SPOTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR SIGN-UP ONLINE, IN PERSON, OR BY TELEPHONE ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH.
SIGN-UPS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. THERE ARE 15 SPOTS PER SESSION, PER WEEK.
Remember, enrollment is limited to one week per child. If you enroll for more than one week, we will automatically cancel your enrollment for any weeks after the first calendar week you sign up.
Paperwork can be picked up at the Scranton Library at the Summer Expo on February 18th, or at the Children’s Desk any time after, and must be returned IN PERSON by June 1st, 2025. If it is not returned, your child will be moved off the list and someone on the waitlist will be moved up to take their place.
